Not sure if this happened to anyone else but why would I get denied a checking account at my old address but at a new location (state and zip) I have no issues getting a new account?

You should just call them, or stop in at a branch, and ask.

Re: Citi Bank question

They may use the Chex System and there may have been a discrepancy with your old address but moving has updated your Chex report with current correct information. Some banks use it for eligibility just as some use a HP every bank has a different system to check qualification.
