America First Credit Union's online application is now geofenced. I seen some people on a different website say they tried calling to join from out of state (Because they're offering a special $250 checking account bonus for new members for black friday) and the rep told them you need to live in the state of the PTA to join. I guess it's (unfortunately) changed though I can't personally comfirm it myself. Regardless I am super glad & thankful that I got in when I did.

Thanks for the update @Royalbacon How about Mountain America, do you still believe that to be open membership?

I'm hoping the trend of larger banks offering this 'perk' continues!
I'm trying not to add any instititution until someone here reports personal experience with it. I've seen press releases from Chase Bank that they're implementing early direct deposit this year, but it hasn't shown up in my account.
I literally just reported I have personal experience with Chase. You're refusing to add it because you haven't experienced it. Here's my last 4 deposits. Just because not everyone gets it means it doesn't exist. Refer to Navy as a prime example.
I'm not going to say that Chase provides early direct deposit when I know it doesn't. Perhaps there's some special thing about your employer or about your status that's causing it, or some other special factor. If you can identify that, then I can post an accurate entry. E.g. with Affinity FCU it provides early direct deposit only if you're using a certain specific checking account of theirs, so I identify that. Your reference to Navy is another good example. Most people (those not in the armed forces) have to request it a few times before they start getting it regularly, so I put that in.
I'm not going to knowingly post a misleading entry.
Right now the only thing I can say about Chase is that you can get early direct deposit if you're @Brian_Earl_Spilner
Here's an article published last week which confirms that Chase does not have early direct deposit:
https://www.crediful.com/banks-that-offer-early-direct-deposit/
Well @Brian_Earl_Spilner I've solved the mystery: Chase has a type of checking account, called "Secure Checking", which has early direct deposit. The Secure Checking has a non-waivable $4.95 monthly service fee, as opposed to the "Total Checking" accounts which have a waivable $12 monthly fee. I presume that you have a "Secure Checking" account.

This person earlier in this thread still debated as to whether or not Mountain America Credit Union was open to everyone by joining the American Consumer Council even after I posted a screenshot of a message I sent them via Facebook asking them that very question ![]()
This is a rather lengthy post with so many great comments😊 So forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I'm new to Navy Federal Credit Union, as I opened an account in October and just set up my DD for December. I called in expecting to speak with a representative who would be able to see my pending DD, and verify the amount, as I cannot until my actual pay day. This is the procedure I use with Chase (I have a Total Checking account which does not have early DD), as they can see the pending deposit every other Thursday prior to my actual pay date on Friday. However, with Navy Federal, I was walked through a brief phone prompt and verified my id with a spoken message. From there, the system told me of my pending DD and asked if I would like the funds to be released. I of course said yes and just like that they were made available to me 😍😍😍 So I think this is a 'psuedo- early DD' @SouthJamaica I'll let you decide, either way I'm pleased with this option.

My understanding is that if you go through that process 2 or 3 times with Navy, they will eventually start giving you 1-day early direct deposit automatically.

I didn't see any entries in this thread for it, but Wells Fargo also offers 2-day early direct deposit
