What credit score model do each of them use?
How long did it take untel you got a pre approvels offers?
Any other good thing about the credit unions? (besides the savings account)
My DCU FICO: 753
MY FICO 8 for all: 780 to 790 range.
I belong to both.
DCU uses EQ 5. Affinity uses EX 8.
I never get any good preapprovals from either. I got a preapproval from DCU early on, but I got denied when I applied, so it wasn't real. I later applied for the same card, and was approved.
DCU's platinum card I find very useful. It can double as an overdraft line of credit, you can do online cash advances directly into checking, there are no balance transfer or cash advance fees. Also, DCU has 2-day early direct deposit in its checking account.
Affinity's PLOC is very useful. Slightly lower APR than some. Easy to use overdraft LOC. Affinity, too, has 2-day early direct deposit in one of its checking accounts -- the 2% cashback debit card checking account. Affinity also has a 2% savings account (up to 1st $2500, 1% on next $2500).
Both credit unions are, in my experience, (a) keepers, but (b) conservative in underwriting.
Affinity offered me the other day a $500 CL I was like big woop but is ok. I have a 785 FICO. I have a lot of small student loans that are reporting that are new.
Sorry to hear that, but glad I mentioned that they are conservative in underwriting ![]()

Affinity FedEx me my debit card overnight and I did not even ask for it to be.
