So I finally broke down and opened an account with DCU. (I'm after that 6% interest rate...)
When setting up the account, I used a debit card to fund as to avoid a cash advance fee. Got my pin, enrolled in online banking this morning.
Now I'm ready to put some dollars into that savings account and am unable to link my primary bank account... (Primary bank is small, local bank that is not an option for DCU to "pull" from.)
I COULD mail a check in, but that seems cumbersome.
Any ideas?
Please and thank you.
Yeah, mobile deposit of a check on their mobile app on your phone is quick & easy and no waiting period to use that for new members (it's Penfed that has a waiting period). But you should be able to pull from your bank to DCU. Even small banks have to have electronic ACH access - that's how all banks clear checks for some time now, it's just an ACH debit with the scanned image of the check just for backup verification.
You just need your bank's routing #, the first 9 digits in the lower left corner of a check, and your account #. Or if your bank allows ACH transfers, push a deposit to DCU.

I do not know why your local bank is not an option to pull from. You just need your routing number and account number to set them up as an external account. Just go to Transfers > Cash Edge > Add New Account
Then they verify with two small deposits.

Also, DCU is a member of the CO-OP.
You can deposit cash at a CO-OP location.

(Didn't look at "cash edge" for a transfer...)
...now I'm waiting for two small deposits to verify...
Thanks again!

+1
i was going to say the same thing and here is the link

If you already have your atm card and want to transfer from another bank just use zelle or google pay. Funds should be in your account within minutes.
For me the easiest is google pay. I have half my debit cards linked to one email address and half to another. Google pay allows you to store money in the "cloud" or direct the incoming funds into one specific account. So I send money to that email address that is liked to that atm account and then it gets transfered to which ever atm card I have linked within seconds.
But don't set up a bank account using account numbers, that takes days.
Now if you have cash in hand then use the Co-op feature at your local branch, or if a check maybe the mobile app.
