I just came across login information for an old employer account for a 401k that I joined (10 years ago) and never looked at. Obviously, after logging in, there was nothing there. If I remember correctly the company sold/switched hands soon after I joined. This account was for a 2035 Target Date Fund... Is there anything that can be done with this account or will it just sit empty for eternity? (Can I make monthly contributions or transfer funds from another account?)
Thank you for any info in advance, I'm not really versed on the ins and outs of investing/retirement, etc. (I know, no excuse!)

Empty for eternity.
I actually asked Fidelity on the phone yesterday when I rolled over all my extraneous 401K's why some of the old accounts from 10 years ago which I'd rolled over ages ago were still there... and was told they had to be kept around for some record keeping reason, which seemed goofy to me but w/e.

Might depend on the bank. I had a 403b with TIAA-Cref and I rolled the funds into a different account. That 403b account was just removed from my list of accounts (4 years after rollover).
