I just paid off all my credit cards in hopes to make a "stronger profile". What the annoying part is is that a ton of those won't refresh on my report until a month from now because about 75% of them just updated with the new statement. And my issue is I need funding sooner than later. I'll keep everyone posted and can only hope that this works.
I agree with @FicoMike0 try another lender.
When I was trying to get a mortgage on my home that I'm in now, it took 3 banks before I heard a "yes".
Good luck to you and yes let us know, how things work out for you.

Little update
I just tried with 4 other lenders to check rates/pre-approvals. And all 4 were denials on soft pulls. I'm a little lost as I double checked my credit card usage and it's showing under 5% with great dti and good income. If anyone has any other input that would be great.
fyi I'll be closing that secured credit card.
*UPDATE*
I ended up finding someone who's very familiar with getting people funding. He told me that the reason for the denial of "secured credit card present" is because my profile is too thin. He also mentioned if you applied for it in the beginning of the year I should've been approved for it. Apparently within the last 3 months lightstream tightened on their credit profiles and loan amounts.
On a good note, I was able to get a 50k 180 month term home improvement loan with nfcu and a $6500 cli on my card. I had to jump through some hoops with this was. Apparently my internal score wasn't great due to a credit card that had went to default 15 years ago when I was in my early early 20's. I spoke with a relationship manager and told them the situation. After fixing some issues with my internal score and then resubmitting the application, it went to underwriting. Within 2 hours I got approved.
