The only lingering complaint about them is no transaction alerts for checking account debits. They will send you one if you overdraft but there is no option for texts for transactions that post.

After logging in, try going into My Settings at the top right corner of your screen, then down to the bottom "Other Settings" -> "Alerts and Notifications". You should be able to set up email and text alerts there. I can't vouch for the text alerts as I'm in a US territory that's outside DCU's SMS service area, but the email alerts get to me fine. My only gripe with it is that their system seems to send out these alerts in batches instead of instantly, at least for email alerts anyway. It's one of the reasons I'm thinking about dabbling with MACU (Utah) a bit sometime, as their text alerts arrive without issue and they also provide instant mobile deposits as well as Zelle. Although regarding P2P transfers, I'm not sure Zelle's any better than DCU's People Pay because People Pay doesn't require the receiving bank to offer the same.

I think it's great that you're finding your current bank better than you thought. At least you have a pretty dependable backup nearby. Smiley Happy

Re: How is DCU for banking?

Thank you Cookiegrabber! Not only do I have texts now, I have my VISA set up as my transfer account when I get a low balance alert and all I have to do is respond with a TRANS command and it will do an advance to my checking. Smiley Very Happy

Okay so that squashes that problem and I don’t currently have any other complaints. Smiley Happy

I don’t really mind the loss of Zelle, honestly my old bank may just be kept with a couple bucks in it but I’m about ready to move everything to DCU. Going to evaluate how it all works until May or so.

With the SMS thing, have you tried a Google Voice number? They work for a lot of these services.
