Android user only:
After a bit of trial and error, I figured out my problem with the latest mobile app for Charles Schwab. I had upgraded to the latest, 9.7.1.6 Android version and discovered, it wouldn't let me log in. It kept saying invalid ID or password. The website worked, downgraded the app to the previous version and it worked... Hmm. After testing many things, aha... well bad on me for having a rooted phone via Magisk (even hide magisk wasn't working).
My solution, and ended up being additional security? Sandboxing it on an island. Using the app "Island" by Oasis Feng (free on the playstore), it creates a "work profile" or "Island" that pretty much quarantines apps you install in it from the rest of your phone (even SD contents). I installed the Schwab app on the island and boop, works as intended. So I figured since it's obviously going to be required for Schwab, figured I'd move all my other financial apps over to the island and keep them sandboxed from the rest of the stuff on my phone, just incase anything malicious happens "mainland" side. No root required to use this app.
This also can be used to isolate apps from public wifi by using a VPN, or use two VPNs at the same time. You can setup on both profiles and utilize separately. If you manage an "always on" VPN on your island, it can protect your financial apps incase you use public wifi. Even if you're not rooted, it could be beneficial security-wise to isolate your financial/other high personal apps just incase you stumble upon a malicious rogue app or other such issues. You can even setup a separate pin and fingerprint, so if someone figures out your main pin, you have a secondary to access the island.
Just figured I'd let the community here know of my troubles, the solution, and how it can help further your own security. Be safe everyone!
