Hello all. Long time no see. I applied for a $10K NFCU CLOC last week and was denied. The reason given in the denial letter was "Request Exceeds Maximum Unsecured Loan Limit". As I was reading it I realized that I understated my income by nearly half, so I called to recon, updated my income and requested $5K and was approved almost instantly. Does anyone think I should call back and request the $10k that I originally asked for, or wait until the account is established first?
I also have a Cash Rewards ($8K) and checking & savings with NFCU.
I think you did just right and would counsel you to accept and be grateful for what you got. We don't know your data points or why you wanted the CLOC. In my experience, most never use their CLOC. It is just another trade line that improves their UTL. You may well be better off accepting what you have and asking for an increase in a year or so, if you don't need the additional $5,000 immediately.
Thank you for the response and suggestion. My reason for getting it is to try to improve my UTL. I'm going to sit on it and get back in the garden. I came out after about 9 months just to try for the NAVCheck, and I am appreciative that I got it. 657EX 686TU 660EQ
