NFCU

I have been thinking about joining NFCU and eventually getting a credit card from them down the road.  My father was an army veteran but is deceased so I am wondering if I could join because of that?  My son also served in the army but defaulted with them 😠didn't listen to his mamma😕 Just curious I went to website but looks like I would have to call to check eligibility  I hate talking on phone lol.

Thanks

Re: NFCU

I joined in Dec 2017 and joined through my deceased Grandfather. I signed up online and then called in and haven't had any verification come up. I have 1 checking, 4 savings, auto refinance and CC since joining.

Re: NFCU

I just signed up with them yesterday. I had to call in because my mom is not a current member, Dad is dead. They warned me that their verification department might want me to send them my Mom’s dd214 papers. Luckily today all they asked me for was a copy of ID or passport and other identifying document (I’ll use paystub) because I’m not sure I can get my mom to go through that much effort. Doubt she knows where her dd214 papers are, but you can order them from archives.gov.

Re: NFCU

Thank you all. I just signed up over the phone very easy. I also applied for the cash rewards card instant approval 2500CL.

Re: NFCU

Alos I wanted to add when I joined over the phone I told them my father was in the army and also my son, they said I was eligible but didn't ask for their names social or anything which I found that kinda strange since anyone could call and see they were afiliated? I am pretty sure I have my dad's discharge papers ( he kept everything bless his soul) but thought this was kinda of odd. I have my sons discharge papers as well but he defaulted with them not the best person to use I suppose.
