@TXinandout wrote:How are u guys doing the paper membership form? All I saw was like an online membership application. Do I need to go into a branch to get one?
Thanks.
Took me a while to find it as well. Here is a link to where you can find the application.

Here is the email I sent to them that outlines everything I sent over:
- Completed NFCU Membership Application
- Membership Confirmation email from the "Navy League of the United States" San Diego chapter
- Bank Statement Activity confirming membership payment
- Copy of Texas issued Driver's License
- Copy of US issued Passport
Wow that's great, thank you my felow Texan! Would you happen to be in the DFW area?

I am a recent member of the Navy League San Diego Chapter and I understand that one of the benefits of membership is the eligibility for membership with the Navy Federal Credit Union. Please find the attached documents required for the membership application.- Completed NFCU Membership Application
- Membership Confirmation email from the "Navy League of the United States" San Diego chapter
- Bank Statement Activity confirming membership payment

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or on my cell phone should you have any questions or require additional documentation.I know it was more information than you asked for, but hope this helps.
Thanks a lot! That might seem faster, I mean if you go yourself into a brach, the only an closest one to me is like 30 miles away. In fact it seems there is only one branch in the DFW area ![]()

TXinandout,
Most people are faxing or mailing the forms in. I personally went inside the branch with everything. I left with my checking, savings, NAVcheck, and credit card account all open. I wrote post in the tread of the expirience. It's basically up to you.
Life's a beach!

Just sent in my app! Wish I saw this before I opened a Penfed Checking account. I ended up filling the application PDF on my computer at /www.pdfescape.com/ because my printer wasn't functioning, hopefully that'll work just fine rather then filling it out by hand.
And for what its worth, I did find this survey on google
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/39XFHXV
8. Which of the following Navy League benefits do you use? (mark all that apply)
-Membership at Navy Federal Credit Union

H-town here. You're lucky that the branch is only 30 miles away. That same branch you are talking about is my closest branch too.

You should be fine. My application was filled out with Acrobat Reader and also placed my sig digitally as well and they were fine with it.
Thats good to hear filling it out on computer rather then handwriting should be fine. Worse comes to worst I'll be at my mom and dad's next week and can print out an application there and fill it out by handwriting it.
I still I think this whole thing sounds too good to be true. But we are applying via the paper application and emailing/faxing/mailing it and it all should be manually reviewed before being approved, so this should be legit. I mean, would they seriously manually approve a bunch of people if this wasn't legit?
Found this as well, making me paranoid

This crock pops up every so often and it's likely some of those who try do slip through the cracks.
Unfortunately, however, in spite of what a misinformed CSR told K, joining the Navy League's San Diego Chapter does not -- in any way -- make someone otherwise unqualified eligible for membership in NFCU. The individual still needs to meet ordinary membership requirements as outlined on the NFCU website.
K, you should know better than rely on a front-line CSR for something like this. CSRs have been known to screw up even on general membership requirements let alone something as obscure as this.
I just got off the phone with someone in an infinitely higher pay grade at Navy and Navy League SD Chapter membership is a no-go. Never has been a go, never will be a go.
For those who say they've done it, post your membership number. If Navy League membership was your sole claim to fame, I'll wager $1,000 that your membership is nuked within 24 hours.
Oh I would take that guy's bet in a milisecond. I have been a member of NFCU now for almost two months by using the Navy League method.
I saw the CC post withing a few hours. I was also approved for CLOC . It took two day to get approval. I had to send in my DL and a copy of a bill for address verification.
