Ladies & Gentlemen I have great news so I called Navy Federal today to inquire about my application that I e-mailed on Sunday. Yes I know I am a very impatient person so I had to call to check the status LoL. So I spoke to a rep and she connected me to the Membership Department which verified all my documents and approved me on the spot!!!. Also, the rep was fully aware of being eligible for Membership through the San Diego Navy League which makes this method 100% legit!!! Thank you so much guys for all your help especially YoureWelcome for making this post you rock!!!

Update for those following:

I called in this morning to in inquire about my membership and they notified me that I was approved for membership! Registered for online banking with the rep and funded my accounts. Also applied for a credit card and was approved for the goRewards card!

I faxed in my application on 5/23 and was approved on the spot today when I called in. Account funded!

Forgot to post - application was approved!  This method does work and is a valid way in.

Got approved after emailing app on Monday 5/23. I had initially just opened the savings account but then decided to open a checking as well. Applied for the CLOC and got instant approval and then got the cashRewards card with instant approval. TU pull for membership and then another TU pull for the credit products.

Guys one thing I want to point out which I think is pretty crazy is when you open an account with a Credit Union they actually check your credit I did not know that today I got an alert through myFico account that a new inquiry was created for Navy Federal through Transunion which boosted my score 19 points!!! Even though I didn't want the inquiry it worked out in my favor which is great!

Hello everyone!

first of all, thanks to YoureWelcome for the information and everyone else that has posted their feedback on this working.

There is a $25 fee to join the Navy League as is pointed out in the OP. However, that is only for one year. If this membership is not maintained, is there any concern that membership at NFCU could be revoked?
