@Anonymous Sorry about the bank account denial. Its possible that the person was not misleading you on purpose but saying that they might consider your application.
I would suggest being patient and waiting 6 months to a year to try again.
What bank was this? Is there another nearby bank or financial institution that can provide you with the same service?

You should get your Chex Systems report and file a dispute.

Good advice above for Chex System. But there's also a competing service called EWS, Early Warning System, that may not have your old negative balance info. Google "banks that use EWS" to find them, mostly larger, nationwide banks.
What exactly are they supposed to dispute?
OP already stated account was overdrafted, and chex is only reporting that account was overdrafted at some point.
I disputed my chapter 7 with equifax, because it's been 7 years as of november 3rd 2020
Oh dame, even if I were to pay off the negative overdraft at my old bank, I still would have to wait for long time.

Yes, it stays on Chex, just like negatives stay on CR until it's removal time.
If that stays on there, it keeps me from opening new account I suppose. ![]()

Are you looking for an early exclusion? Ch 7 BK would stay on CRs for 10 years, not 7.
