Paying with Venmo

While I have downloaded Venmo, I ctually have never used it. Is there a fee to use it to pay rent? Or is it completely free? Also, do you know if you will still earn credit card points when using Venmo?

I didn't use mine to pay rent, but did incur a fee paying a person directly with my AMEX linked versus a bank account

From their site:

Venmo does not charge for sending money from a linked bank account, debit card, or your Venmo account. There is a 3% fee for sending money using a linked credit card.

I just added my paypal key card, but since Venmo is owned by Paypal, not sure if that will work to avoid 3% fee

So far, so good.....I think.  Looked on dh's acct. and there isn't a fee charged.
