Anyone know personal loan prequals that pull EQ? These seem to be few and far between. Thanks.
Arrowhead credit union
Arrowhead from my experience only pulls EX, I had a card & auto loan with them a few years back
What type of personal loan? All I could find off hand was PENFED.
Thanks. I'm looking to pay off some of my husband's credit cards. Likely around $10,000. I've been working on my scores but EQ is always the highest. Right now I'm around 670 EQ. I tried PenFed but they pulled EX for the personal loan prequal and I was denied. I can't track down any that use strictly EQ.
Hmmm. Wait to see who else chimes in. But $10,000 with a 670 score might be a little difficult. If you do get it. Kinda high interest but less then a CC interest.
In your opinion when do things start opening up in terms of personal loans? 700?
It helps. 700 opens many more doors. But without knowing your file. Hard to narrow it down. But hitting 700 makes it easier. And less interest.
I'll keep working on my scores then. Thanks for your input!
I've been looking for the same thing because I actually don't have any score outside the Vantage model for EX or TU.
There are a bunch of credit unions that reportedly use EQ: DCU, AOD, Dept. of the Interior FCU, Chartway, and Dept. of Commerce CU.
Some, like PenFed, pull one bureau for one product and another bureau for a different product. Some also pull ChexSystems.
There are more details here: walletmonkey.io/master-credit-union-lender-list. Another forum member led me to that link. There are a few more on there like Redwood CU and some of the educator CUs. They have details about geofencing, credit pulls, etc. I would double check to make sure the data points are up to date (I search here and other sites, including some of the Reddit subs), so you don't waste a hard pull or Chex inquiry.
Edited to add: there are also different EQ scores used by these lenders. I was shocked to see my EQ5 (the mortgage scoring model) was about 100 points higher than everything else. I don't get that one free, so I paid for a one-time MyFICO report for the 2/4/5 scores (2 and 4 are mortgage scores for EX and TU). You can do that for other EQ scores too depending on what you're shopping for and what the lender is likely to use (auto scores, CCs, etc.).
Good luck!
