Just so everyone knows it is a HP to become a member. Will call up later and ask if i can recycle the HP for a credit card. (Luckily i freeze my reports)
Edit: Not sure why i needed to unfreeze for them to soft pull, but yes it is a SP, i assumed it would be a HP when they emailed me saying i need to contact Experian so they can pull my report.
Not always. Mine was soft pull at EX plus a Chex inquiry. Most DPs at Doctor of Credit show soft pull for membership apps.

Update - got accepted for membership. Chex inquiries 1/3, 11/12, 11/24. I did not apply for the credit card, just the regular savings account. They did ask for proof of membership in the Financial Fitness Association.

Likewise, SP for me as well and Chex. (Side note DP's: Usual submission of ID, SS card (front and back), utility bill, paystub. Joined through Financial Fitness, no proof of that membership was requested. All Docusign.)

I believe that when your reports are frozen any existing creditors can still do a SP, however new creditors would need to have them thawed for a SP.
Yeah, @pizzadude I just figured that out. What a weird detail that was missed in this whole journey of mine

@Hansolojr @PullingMeSoftly Thank you for sharing details about joining the organization. I'm preparing to apply. Were you able to receive "proof" from the Financial Fitness Association the same day you requested to join the organization? I want to make sure I have everything in place so I can get it done without any delays. Thank you!
Happy to help! Yes after you go to the FFA website to join (and pay the $8), you will get an email confirmation that can serve as proof of membership. The email will read like this:
"Hi xx,
Congratulations! You're now an active member of the Financial Fitness Association.
You may use this email as proof of your membership. We do not issue member numbers. Here are your member details:
First Name: xx
Last Name: xx

@Hansolojr Ok. Thank you! I appreciate it.
