So basically I opened a selflender made one payment so far but I am debating closing it early as I got a car loan for 10k. Would it be worth it to keep the SL with the car loan or is it best to cancel it?
It doesnt really hurt anything to keep it open. Helps with showing payment history of being on time. You took the new account hit. Might as well let it work for you now. Instead of closing it out.
That is what I was thinking but I know I have seen a lot of folks saying 2 installments would not be neccessary.
This is true. But most will get a self lender that have had an auto loan, mortagage, or some other type of installment already open. You took the hit for a new account, AAoA's,ect. Your situation was the opposite. With just one payment. Ride it out. No harm no foul really. You want to pay it off early. You can. Might as well get rewarded for on time payments being so fresh.
