Super long-time lurker, very grateful for all the good advice from these boards.
Figured it was time for me to finally post, and share a very good experience with a SoFi personal loan. Here are the highlights:
I got turned down for a mortgage refi two months ago. Income good, but scores sucked. 606 low average on mortgage FICO. One $69 medical collection and one Verizon Wireless collection dragging me down, plus high cc balances. Just sloppy and careless.
- So with help here, I clawed way back. Cleaned up the baddies and got them removed.
- Paid down some balances and got EX score up from 657 to 689.
- The original plan was to wait for my bonus in January, to to pay off the cards, wait for another score bump, and then start the refi process in Feb or March 2017.
But then last Wednesday, I thought - let's give SoFi a shot. And can accellerate this by a few months So I did the online application, and within a minute, I'm pre-approved for 30k.
This morning, one week later, the money was in my account. As of this afternoon, all the cards are paid off. And will pay off the SoFi loan with my bonus in January. Will cost me a bit, but I'm so happy to have those cards paid off now, I can't even express it.
Process was so easy. Just uploaded PDFs and pictures of docs. Wow, they were fast.
So for anyone considering them, I'm a very happy camper. My EX score wasn't great, but income was good enough for them to go - and I'm very happy.
