As everyone has seen they are raising up
8.7%. Now some places state this starts in January but when I checked my hubby's account it reflected the increase on his December payment . It always shows pending the Friday before it post the following week. Well the pending post is his previous amount doesn't include the increase .
Has anybody gotten the increase on their decembers payment? I am just not understanding although his social security account clearly show the increase for December payment😳
I pulled up my mother's account and confirmed the deposit - December's payment was at her 2022 rate.
Thank you . I guess I misunderstood
Remember that these payments are one month in the rears. So basically the payment you receive in January will be "for December". That is likely where the confusion is. So yes the increase goes into effect "for December" month, but you do not receive your December month payment until January.

@Jnbmom, slightly off topic, but related...
... I no longer have access to that other thread. Can I assume that this means your husband finally got his approval?

I am on ssdi. I just got the letter today from ss telling me my january check will reflect the 8.7 raise and it also told me the medicare monthly cost is down from 170 to 164.
Doesn't SSI get the increase in December and SSDI in January?
The extra money is certainly appreciated. I got notice my SSDI is going to $1800 a month. Of course, it doesn't actually keep up with the prices I've been paying, but I'm not complaining.
