Been scrounging through these forums like mad since I joined.....soaking up every ounce of information I can. Wasn't exactly unhappy with my current bank, but wasn't all that impressed either. Many hours of research later......found a coupon for $300 cash back for opening a checking account with Chase. I figured....what the heck....I already have one of their cards and I do appreciate being able to walk into a branch.
Application process was super easy (since all my info was already there thanks to the CC). Direct deposit goes in on the 5th and 10 days later.....here comes $300. Not a bad deal....and yes, I know I'll get 1099-INT'd. Not concerned about an extra $300 income for taxes. Also got them to throw in my first batch of checks (only write one check a month for rent so that's another win).
I am SO GLAD I found this place of fellow super-obsessed credit/deal wranglers. THANK YOU.
