Seriously don't even think about doing that .

this is fraud.
do not commit fraud.
+1
THIS cannnot be emphasized enough.

I didn't think of it as fraud, but I understand what you're saying. Being in debt is a new world to me. Thanks for your help.

Why spend time worrying about what they may or may not do? You can't control it. Worrying about it won't help. Lettting it drive you insane definitely won't help. It is what it is. They will do what they do.
Worry about what you can influence. Pay your "good standing" cards on time and hope for the best.

Charging up your cards with no intent to pay them would be theft. If that doesn't bother you, then go for it.
Keep in mind that, if you were to eventually file BK, the trustee looks at everything. The trustee is not your friend. They will just as soon dismiss your BK and let your creditors pursue you. This wouldn't be the trustee's first rodeo. They've seen it all.
Charging up all your cards prior to a BK would be a HUGE red flag to the trustee. The trustee does not, and will not, look for ways to exonerate you. They will assume, based on the evidence, that you intentionally ran up your cards with the intention of filing.

That's is exactly fraud !Charging up your cards with no intention of paying them and filing BK .
@SweetCreditObsession wrote:@jazzyvar84 - it's never a good idea to deliberately max a card you don't intend to pay off.
Even if your cards are CLD or closed out by Synchrony, if you keep paying them off, they'd close as positive CLs.
Do the best you can to stop using any cards except for what you can pay off while you're in this crisis. You may be able to weather this storm with some credit lines intact.
Fo example, @OmarGB9. His situation was dire, but he was able to rebuild without needing a BK once he secured a stable job.
Your circumstances aren't identical but the point is that if some accounts go to collections it doesn't mean all must. Unless you are thinking of filing a BK, do your best to not give up hope or close out positive CLs.
Thank you for the tag @SweetCreditObsession!
@jazzyvar84, indeed, if you can salvage at least a few of your cards you should do so. I unfortunately was unable to do so.
If Synchrony closes or CLDs (best case scenario besides leaving them alone) your cards, just deal with it then. For now, just do your best to stay afloat and stay on time. If the debt becomes too much for you to handle, then consider consulting with a BK attorney. I was fortunate enough that when my debt reached its highest, I was about to graduate from college and I managed to secure a good, well-paying job fairly quickly and managed to avoid BK as noted above.
Also, yes, please don't max out all cards and then just let them go, because this is considered "bust-out fraud," and if BK does happen to become your only option, you could be disqualified from even filing if you had previously engaged in this "bust-out fraud."

Truth.
The trustee is not your friend OP.

My concern is that I still have credit cards in good standing with my credit unions and a few lines of credit, but I don't know if Synchrony will lower my cards with them or even close my accounts. I have never made a late payment on any of them, but I know my credit score is about to drop very very low. Can anyone tell me what Sychrony will most likely do to me? I have a Belk's card, Care Credit, JC Penney, most importantly my Amazon card. Any information would be appreciated, as this driving me insane.
