Taxes 2020!

Just wanted to see if anyone has infomation abut the 2020 Tax season.? I am wondering if there has been any update to the july 15th Due date to File and Pay? I had heard some speculation but need to see if anyone got more accurate Infomation. What I had heard is that its possible for taxes or a portion to be waived!

Well any inofomation would be Great to know..

Re: Taxes 2020!

Last I heard, there was talk of extending the deadline a month or two, nothing more.

Re: Taxes 2020!

I would expect any type of tax abatement or credit to apply to 2020, not 2019.  Hard to change that ex post facto when talking tax law, I suspect as Stimpy er... Brian mentioned a further extension is probably all that's in the cards.

Re: Taxes 2020!

To answer your question in the IRS Newswire that I receive, it states: IRS extends July 15, other upcoming deadlines for tornado victims in parts of the South. Victims of the April tornadoes, severe storms and flooding that took place in parts of Mississippi, Tennessee and South Carolina will have until October 15, 2020 to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.

Re: Taxes 2020!

Yeah 2020 taxes (due in 2021) will probably have lots of changes

2019 nothing other then the extended date to file

On the business tax side, there are a few about "delaying" some taxes but nothing with personal taxes.
