What are things you include in a formal request for a raise or bonus from your job? I know answers will vary due to different industries and hourly vs salary, but I wanted to see if anyone had some good ideas.
I work as a vascular ultrasound tech. I was hoping to start trading either part time or full time by years end, but one of the people I worked with quit, leaving me as the only sonographer, so I've had to take a break from the market. I took on a lof of work, patients, hours, over time to keep a busy practice running. I got a bonus this past year, but no raise. This year I would like to have both but would also consider additional vacation time since we're having a destination wedding and honeymoon.

look around and see what you can get at another job, figure out if you're being under/overpaid at all. it is infinitely easier to job hop to increase income than it is to increase your income through raises.
if every job in your area for the same position pays less, you have no leverage.
if every job in your area for the same position pays $20k more, you have all the leverage.

So here's the thing with Florida... lol
I'm only registered with one modality in a dual modality state. This means I can't work at most hospital systems here.
But going back to school makes no financial sense bc I'd be required to do two jobs, for less money, ultimately having to work more than I do now.
So opportunity is limited and I'm not unhappy at my job, they feed me twice a week most weeks.
Im not making the median salary for my area, I doubt many in our practice are. But, starting a family next year and I'd like to make a few thousand more per year in the mean time
