My MAJOR complaint about US Alliance certificates have been their terrible early withdrawal penalties, 360 days for 18 month certs.
But for Black Friday they have released an 11 month, no penalty 4% CD, which competes well with savings accounts (it's low compared to the best CDs, but for no penalty...)
One year T-bill at 4.76% today. Even 3M 4.44%.
Any CD paying under that, hard pass personally especially with an 11 month timeline. Fidelity even has the CD rates slighly better than T-bill which imo is correct.
I'm stuck with an impending mortgage that's going to be several percentage points higher than basically Treasury aka basically guarunteed return, so... yeah. I don't have the two gig income anymore, but I am still going to be throwing available cash flow at the new mortgage while I can.
