USAA, what a PITA

Smiley Frustrated I became a member mid-2022 but did little other than fiddle with their insurance quotes until this year when they're insurance became a reasonable alternative for my needs.

I committed to them for some policies, paid for it with a CC and during the course of evolving my membership to something with substance, they mentioned a reasonable CD rate so I figured why not. Problem is that I was wanting to put an undetermined amount into the CD above $10k -- initial funding wouldn't allow that unless I wired the money.. So they suggested I open a Performance Savings since it would allow/required initial funding of $10k or more.

..well it broke. Being a new account/(bonifide) member apparently directed the phone CSR's $20k ACH was invalidated at USAA during the process and I was presented a new Performance Savings account with $0.00 balance. Funny how they discarded the $10k initial opening deposit requirement and went ahead and opened it.

So.. I call and find out that since I am a noob the limit I could request on the phone for a CSR to ACH was $9,999.99 -- so I cleared them to do $9,000.00 and was informed that I would be able to ACH or wire (sooner) more to bring the savings up to the amount I wanted to put in the CD..

My first ACH link from USAA completed on 4/17 and a second on 4/21. In the mean time I -try- to get used to the website and see that I will save ~$120 total on my insurance (prepaid without that discount) and watch... wait.. got the postal copy of the savings adjustment to the insurance, and nothing changes online.

(waiting..) so my transfer limit into USAA had remained $0.00 all this time and to this day still $0.00. However I am getting ability to ACH out of USAA with a $5,000.00 limit. Smiley Indifferent

Supposedly 30 days afer -something- I should be able to at least ACH more into USAA to build up the amount for the CD I planned to get. Well I figured that it would be 30 days from the first ACH link confirmation (a couple days ago), nope.

So..

1. anyone have an idea on when/if I would actually see the ~$120.00 savings deposited into my USAA savings or returned to my funding source?

2. anyone have any DP on the evolution of ACH functionality I might expect?

Realistically this has been more work than expected and I am thinking that I may just use the $5k outbound limit to reduce my Savings account down to the interest I got waiting.. and revisit USAA and it's banking later once things settle more. I may call them just for good measure before doing any more, but so far CSR info has been kind of hit and miss.
