When logged my WF account to pay my mortgage I was greeted with "Get a $325 checking bonus*" message.
I checked Doctor of Credit to get a better read on the details.Wells Fargo $325 Checking Bonus – Available Online.
Wells Fargo is offering a $325 bonus when you open a new Everyday Checking account and complete the following requirements:
Receive a total of $1,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits to the new checking account within 90 calendar days from account opening (the qualification period)
A qualifying direct deposit is an ACH (Automated Clearing House) automatic electronic deposit of your salary, pension, Social Security, or other regular income into your bank account. Confirm with your employer or the agency or company making these payments that they use the ACH network.
While on DOC, I also a WF savings bonus Wells Fargo $225 Savings Bonus With $10,000 Deposit
Wells Fargo is offering a $225 bonus when you open a new savings account and deposit $10,000 within 30 days. Must maintain the balance through Day 90 from account opening.
There is a also a in-branch Wells Fargo $525 Savings Bonus With $25,000 Deposit (In-Branch), but in the small print their is this gem
I know WF sucks, but being that I have to bank to them for my mortgage anyway I going to take attempt to sign up for both accounts and see what happens.
EDIT: I was approved for both accounts and a partial direct deposit has already been setup, I'll report back after I see the SUBs.
I also plan to open both accounts in branch within next 2 weeks, have already sent the codes to my email few days ago.
Great deal! Thank you for sharing.
@citymunky @The Wells Fargo savings acocunt offer unless I am not understanding something I would not do. The only savings account WF has is an account the makes a quarter of one percent or $25.00 or thereabouts, Capital One Performance Savings at the current rate 4.35% would make $435.00 or there abouts. The checking account offer requires double the ACH deposits than if you opened the same account with out the bonus per my reading on Wells Fargo's web site. What am I missing or not understanding? Even then, I am not sure I would qualify for the bonus because I was added on to mom's checking account as a signer.

The APY for WF is abysmal and wouldn't make sense for everyone. I'm my case, I'm in for the bonus and I will do what is to the minimum of what is required not to occurred any fees. I have many HYSAs with Cap1 being one of them, and with this bonus I can earn $225 faster with WF with $10K than I can with Cap1. Once the promo is over, I will move my most of my money out and leave a small amount with WF.
I did the checking late last year. Did a $2000+ push from fidelity, got the $325 90+ days later. Ive barely got $10000 laying around, just used it to get $500 sub from USBank, just pushed it through, didn't have to maintain. I may tie up $10000 for 60+ days at associated bank for $600 sub. Then it goes back to CapOne @ 4.35.
WF's promotion bonus was paid out just as advertised. $225 for Savings account, and $325.00 for their Checking account for a total for $550. I will keep the checking account open as my mortgage is with them, and currently their is enough to cover for month, however I will change monthly deposit to a lesser amount. The Saving will be closed after I move funds back to HYSA, than on the next promo (eye balling Chase)
I wish I could have gotten this. I just opened a checking and hoping my DD will hit them Friday.
