I have a 717 Fico 8 score right now with one of my cards reporting way over limit..
long story, it's a fraudulent charge I have in dispute but BOA likes to report it anyway..
I had pretty high util for quite a while but I'm paying it down pretty fast now.. Last summer wasn't financially good for me..
Never missed any payments, Amex CLDd me though from $7500 to $1000 when I tried swiping the empty card (zero balance) for a laptop..
Im just thinking it's pretty good to be getting a 717 fico 8 WITH a far over maxed out card reporting..
Think I might be close to the 800s territory with most everything paid off?
aaoa 2y 4m
aooa 3y 5m (4 old accounts)
Newest accounts are over a year old..
9 cards and the old Alliant ssl still reporting away..
no derogs, no missed payments, just utilization problems..
I paid some down on that BOA account with the fraud charge just so it will quit reporting overlimit, and hope I win the fraud case..
The next time my cards all report, around a month or whatever, all balances will be down, some down quite a lot..
I'm thinking a bit about apping a 0% interest card just to help me pay some things a bit faster..
Im probably currently paying down about $2-$3k a month..
Good to be back into the 700s..
It is pretty impressive to still be in the 700s with a card way over limit. But if it's the only one and all the others are at a good utilization, then that's not so bad. Sorry about the Amex CLD. The good thing is, Amex is pretty good about restoring limits fairly quickly.
Good plan to dig out. I would wait til that BoA is paid well down though before apping. Odds of approval with a card at very high usage are pretty low. Once that's under control I think you'd have your pick of cards.
