A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

So I have a CO from a Kohl's account. 421 dollars on a 300 CL. First delinquent payment was 9/14. Kohl's still reports the debt so I'm assuming they still own it? Has ANYONE had luck with paying Kohl's in full in exchange for a delete? I feel as though paying it and then going the GW route may take away my bargaining power. I have the cash and can pay it tomorrow if I can get the agreement from Kohl's to delete. Any previous experience in this area would be much appreciated.

Started on July 4th, 2016 with 400's FAKO scores, no FICO, a dozen baddies and no credit of any kind.

JUNE 2023 UPDATE
2020: COVID toppled me. All old accounts went into default. Business lost. Car repossessed.
2021: Cap1 let me back in (one secured/two not). Secured Mission Lane. AU on AMEX Gold, Citi Premier and Chase Sapphire. Car loan approved without cosigner for $20,000. All current.
Currently: No lawsuits. Thinking most SOL have expired on CC debt. Fingers crossed my math and memory are correct.

Re: A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

I have a Kohls charge off from 2013 and they still report. It had a $1500 CL and now has a $2100 balance. I called recently and they agreed to settle for $1200, but we didn't discuss a delete. I need to talk with them more about other options.

Re: A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

That may take away your bargaining power, but it's killing your UTI and your scores. Especially if they are still reporting it. If you pay it then it won't update anymore and it'll be removed from the UTI calculations. You might consider that if they won't do a PFD.

By chance does anyone have a good executive email contact for Kohls?

Re: A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

I'd still want to pay it just because of the utilization issue alone. You can try the PFD first a couple of times. Then, if that does not work, pay it, then go forward with the GW letters.

Re: A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

Kohls is the worse! I did a bbb complaint cause after several emails from them advising of a settlement offer, when i called they refused to give it to me. The so called corporate woman told me to call/email if i had issues. I called and emailed her back in april 2016 and i have yet to receive a response.

Re: A question about a Kohl's Charge Off

My Kohls charge-off account is still with me dogging my scores. Hard to know though just how much it is affecting my scores. The last time I called them, I think I was offered a $1500 settlement, which is not much of a settlement in my opinion since it's essentialy paying the balance and not all the interest and fees they added on.
