Earlier this year I used Acceptance Now to buy furniture form, Marlo. I paid it off in 60 days. For some reason, they only reported it closed to Experian and Transunion. I've called them several times to update my Equifax and I got the runaround. The balance also was 3X higher than what I paid. I decided to do a dispute. It has been over 30 days and I haven't heard anything.
So I wrote a complaint on the BBB website. And don't you know I was called the next day. They updated my Equifax two days later. I know in the future I won't use them.
A lot of people on here write off the BBB, but I've seen things like deletions from CAs that don't do PFD just so they don't have a complaint. Glad you got it taken care of

It's my first time using them. I was so irritated I just went on the website and did a write-up. People are under the impression that the BBB is extinct.
Yes, those credit card financing "alternatives" are often sketchy. I wouldn't trust any of them.
Glad you got it worked out.

Congrats on getting your report updated. It's not that the BBB is extinct, but some companies just don't engage the complaints. Glad Acceptance Now took your complaint serious.
Hello all, I am in the process of cleaning up my credit and I've recently been denied an apartment due to Acceptance Now pulling as a "rental agreement". Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance for all of your help!!
Tell your apartment people it means furniture rental. Mines had that same dumb comment.
