Account is scheduled to continue on record until?

I have a couple that fell off a few months ago & the CA (Portfolio Recovery) keeps calling & sending me notices to "pay now to get a discount".  I can't find original bill with US Cellular but I found an old credit report that said it was to fall off 2/2010.  I don't want to send a CD letter yet since I'm in the "end stages" of a mortgage & have repeatedely told them not to call me again as it's beyond the SOL (at least I "think" so ??!!).  Should I wait til after mortgage is APPROVED (speaking it into existence)?
