Added as an authorized user with a different address? Will it report?

Ill sum this up the best i can, i literally stopped paying all my bills in 2007 when i got laid off and the economy went inthe tank.. I have 13 baddies on my report, 9 of which fall of within the next 7months.  I got a creditone bank card 16months ago 300 limit , now 750, i recently got a capone quicksilver one  ,300 limit.  My fico in feb was 554, i got a car loan then , had to put down 14K.  My report basically says my credit history is well as old as my creditone card 15months because all my previous history went to collections and was charged off.  My score now 6months later is 594 TU, 615EX.  My mom and i spoke today and well we had the same address for what 25yrs but i live in FL now for the last 7.  SHe put me on her BOA today as an authorized user, they took my DOB and Social from her.  I dont even want the card i want the 15yr history of 100% on time payments and a 24K credit limit.  The lady on the phone was insistent that this would not help or affect my score , ive spent the last 3days on different forums and it seems to me as long as its a spouse or son, daughter etc that have lived at the same address at somepoint it will help my credit out?  Looking to buy a house in 1.5-2yrs and get alot better car insurance rate in the meantime which for whatever reason they think your a better driver if your credit score is good, hogwash.  My mom also has a Citi card similar to the BOA 100 dollar balance, 17K credit limit, should i try to get on that one at all?  Just lookin for the best advice possible as my mom is trying to do me a big favor here and get me back to respectable score status, thoughts?

I don't know how they report now, but in the past they have always reported authorized users, hence the reason they ask for your social security number. If they're following prior reporting, the address difference will not matter in the cardholder's address will show up on your credit report most likely on Trans Union or Experian, and the TL showing on all three.

Thx for the info ive also heard of them somehow finding you without your SSN but i guess its good that they took mine.. Should i have her add me to a citi card as well that also has long history, high limit and minimal balance , the more the merrier or would it not have as much of an effect on the score as the first one?

IMO, being an AU is good to create a credit file, so lenders see something, instead of "no file." It might help, it might not. Most underwriters disregard AU accounts anyways, so the benefits aren't as good as compared to years ago.

Understood i figure at least in the meantime if my score goes up, i can acquire prime cards i otherwise wouldnt have qualified for on my own and establish a good history/relationship with them for the next 2yrs.

Don't expect it to happen overnight, and don't load up on junk low limit cards.

Don't expect your starting limits to match the AU limit, if it's high. They'll recognize the account as an AU, and most likely you'll get manually UW'ed as your file is thin.

Instead of a computer spitting out a decision, you'll get a "we'll let you know in xx days by mail," where an underwriter will manually review your CR/s, and base a decision from their review-analysis. It's like risk management for a CC company.

Re: Added as an authorized user with a different address? Will it report?

So an update on this i was added to 2 cards a citi 24K limit and a boa 17K limit.  I have boa a savings and checking so i happen to be in my branch yesterday and talked to thew guy who gave me a secured card about 2yrs ago that never graduated so i just cancelled it and put the money back into my savings.  He says hes been there 30yrs and boa will not report an AU only a co borrower on credit cards.  I just hope one of the two reports, boa took my social , citi didnt.

BOA DOES report AU. Takes up to 2 months to show up, but it will.
