Hi! I'm new here and I'm trying to revive my credit profile.
I've always known a good bit about credit I actually was better at managing it when I was younger, shame on me. I started at about 750 and after 2020 I hit mid 500's due to job loss and not being able to find a job with the same pay that I was previously making. Well enough of the excuses, for now, I currently have a new job that is paying well over what I was making previously so I was able to pay down $11,000 of my debt and have about 6000 left! In 2020 I lost my job due to Covid and I accrued a total of 5 late payments and 2 collections. I am currently working on getting those collections paid and late payments removed, possibly with a goodwill deletion, hoping it is not too late for that. I was very good at paying on time and paying well over the minimum balances before my job loss so I'm hoping I'm able to get them removed.
Does anyone have any good Goodwill removal letters that pertain to Covid lates? If not I will write one up but this is just me hoping! lol
Quick Tip: If you are in debt get into car sales, it saved my life. That's a story for another day.
I don't know how to do a fancy signature so here's what I have for now! These scores are updated after paying down debt nothing removed as of now. I just paid for the MyFico today so I will add those scores as well.
FEBRUARY 2022 Experian- 518 TransUnion-518 Equifax- 528
MAY 2022 Experian- 575 TransUnion- 641 Equifax- 626
MyFico Mortgage Scores: Experian- 601 TransUnion- 630 Equifax- 577
Alright, so I finally took the leap and paid for MyFico so that I could see my actual Mortgage Fico scores because I am currently trying to buy a home. Turns out there not as bad as I thought, not where I would want them to be, but I thought they were going to be at least 60pts lower. So according to myFico, I have 7 late payments on my report that I need to work on getting off my account. The only thing is I'm scared that I may get them off and my middle score ( I recently learned the mortgage lenders base off the median score) will end up being one of the lower ones. We shall see.
Has anyone had any luck getting these late payments removed from these companies?
I have two collections that reported that I wasn't aware of until it was reported. Verizon and Gas
I also have 7 late payments:

Here are my score stats as of now after I paid down about 11k of debt. You would think they would jump more than that, but ehhhh here we are lol

I use the Experian app and Credit Karma for the other two. I have a folder of about 6 apps that I use and keep track of my scores monthly. I can make a separate post for all of those.
Who are the lates/collections with?
Also, this may help (though it's not covid specific): https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/GW-letter-Q-amp-A-Examples-and-GW-Success-St...
Oh sorry, I had them in my second post.

July Mortgage Scores: Experian 601 Transunion 630 Equifax 577
I really haven't done much just paid my bills on time. I'm working on late removal letters right now. I just paid off one of my collections accounts, but that probably won't show for a minute.
thank you!
updated scores as of August 16th, 2022:
July 2022 Experian 644 Transunion 682 Equifax 675
July myFico Mortgage Scores: Experian 609 Transunion 659 Equifax 621
I currently have only paid off one collection and have one more. I have been using my nfcu CC regularly and keeping the balance pretty low. I did not do my late letters yet, still working on those.
Welcome to the forums @Ictoriavay
You can start to add more things to your siggy once the newb star dissapears. Bout all you can do is what @OmarGB9 linked to. Persistance pays off. Best of luck and congrats on tackling your recovery.
updated scores as of April 29th, 2023:
April Fico Scores: Experian 674 Transunion 675 Equifax 672
April myFico Mortgage Scores: Experian 671 Transunion 660 Equifax 662
I currently have paid off both collections. All of my other credit accounts have low balances, about $100-$300. I know all of the different scores use different algorithms for scoring but dang I wish my autoFICO score was my mortgage score!
I still have yet to do my late letters yet. I'm doing them in May I swear!
