Any PFD successes or tips?

I am considering PFDing an old CO with Cap1.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips that could lead to a succesful PFD? Anyone had any successes with any other companies?

Do you think that they would be more likely to accept a PFD considering the economic environment? My original CO amount was $2000 and it is now up to $4000 with fees. I would want to offer $2000 for deletion of account on all 3 CRs.

Re: Any PFD successes or tips?

Is it beyond SOL?

Someone posted the other day that they had luck getting a PFD from Cap One. But it was the first I had read(that I remember).

Re: Any PFD successes or tips?

my credit score was 553-558-607 before my PFD request. I called each collection i had for medical and asked them if I paid them in full for whole amount if they would delete them. I had 4 in one collection dept and 1 in another 1 more for another collection company. I paid them all off same day and got PFD letters faxed to me. I started on 2-13-09 and i just looked at my report now because i got a few letters in the mail but they were not very specific on what was done but low and behold my credit scores are now EXP 603, EQU 606, TU 639... FHA loan here I come. My advise to all is be super nice. I never tried to settle for a lower amount than what i owed so I dont know if that strategy works but you get more with sugar than vinegar. Bite the bullet and pay what you can. Trust me it will be the best money you have ever spent. I spend around 2100 dollars to clear it up. If I pay Compass bank before the 26th of the month then they will PFD as well which should sky rocket my scores even higher. I thought it was going to be hard to get a bank to do a PFD but they want their money and they are willing to work with you. RJM ACQ is Compass Bank collections, Bureau of Medical Economics was my 4 medical, Health Care Collections was another medical if that helps anyone out. I did all mine over the phone because I am in a rush to get a loan for a first time home buyer and ohh yeah I am only 24. Make sure you get those PFD letter though, although I did not need mine but I still have them filed. I hope some of this info helps. GOOD LUCK ALL

Good work.

I see you listed a recent EX score.....where did these scores come from? You can not directly access your EX FICO any longer.  Most scores gotten anywhere but here are FAKO scores, not FICO scores.
