Any other suggestions?

I have about 9 items that I am trying to clean up on my report.

3 are from AFNI on old cell phone accounts.  AFNI is reporting 3 accounts but I only had two phones. I sent AFNI letters offering to pay the 2 accounts in exchange for removal of info but no response.  I also disputed with TU, EQU and EX.

The other two are medical collections, one which I claim is paid and dispute with Americollect and the other insurance was supposed to pay, also disputed with Americollect. They both show disputed.

The others are old credit cards that I did a pay off on and they took less than what was owed (2004) – is there anything else I can do for these? I did put in a statement that the delinquency was due to divorce.

The next one is a collection for a book of the month club from RMJ from ..2001?? that I dispute that I had a balance. I sent them a letter to that effect and no response.

The final one is a current car loan that I am co-signer on with my ex. Of course, he is late to pay and it hits my credit. I put in a statement that he is responsible per divorce degree and delinquency due to divorce.

Are there any other suggestions as to what I can do to improve my score? It’s holding us back from getting a home.

TU 630/ EQ 666/ EX 635

Thanks

Re: Any other suggestions?

On AFNI, have you DV'd?

On the medical, post on the medical debt board. See link below

On the CC-- all you can do is GW the creditors to remove. However you will lose the age with them, you may be better off leaving those be for now and doing what else you can first.

On the book of the month club, who is reporting? What is the DOFD? If DOFD was 2001, it should be removed already as it would be past CRTP.

Adding the statements won't help your scores. Does the divorce decree not require him to refinance into his own name? What does it say about making payments on time? Maybe you can take it back to court.

Re: Any other suggestions?

All medical is handled different. We have a board just for medical collections.

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board?board.id=medicaldebt

Before filing a dispute on a CA you should have mailed a DV letter.  And always send a DV before thinking about a PFD!!!      Send the DV  CMRRR  to AFNI  each account reporting should have it's own DV but they can be mailed together.

Never sign anything going to a CA!!!!

old credit cards that you paid for less.

You state 2004. Is this the DOFD or the year that you paid?  Did you do so using a PFD? What are they reporting?

                   RMJ from ..2001

If they are reporting the DOFD of 2001 then it should have been deleted. What drop date is reported?

Co-signed..........You can try calling the OC and ask to have your name removed BUT most will not do it.

Re: Any other suggestions?

Yes, on AFNI I did DV's and no response (CMRRR). I do legitimately owe 2 of the 3 so I'd be willing to do PFD's if they took off all 3, but I can't get a response.

On the medical, I will check the medical board...

On the payments to CC's I didnt know about PFD's back in 2004, so I assume I am stuck with that until 2011?

The BOM club is RJM aquisitions and yes, it's from 2001. I did a letter to them stating that I didn't owe it and further it exceeded my SOL.

The Ex wasnt required to refinance, he has 1 payment left and about $300 in fees to ford.

Re: Any other suggestions?

Tx, I will check the med boards.

2004 is the date they were paid.  They show "settlement accepted" and of course show the late payments that year.

I was able to get the OC to move me from primary to secondary on the auto loan but that is the most they would do.

How long since they received? Do you have the green cards? I would check around, using google and the BBB and try to find some email addresses for AFNI or file a complaint with the BBB

When were these accounts opened? Any others this old?

Are they reporting? If so, what DOFD is being reported on EQ? What removal date is listed on TU and EX?

Re: Any other suggestions?

IMO, leave the CC accounts alone right now.

Give AFNI about 15 more days before doing anything.

On the BOM club.....where did you get the 2001 date?

Re: Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the advice.

the 2001 date is the latest I can remember having an account. I moved to a home in 2001 and I know any account I had with them was long before that.  Which is why i sent the DV letter and also will dispute it based on the SOL.

My question is do I tell the CRA about the SOL? or tell RJM about it in a seperate letter?

thanks again, these forums are very helpful.
