Are they reporting correctly?

I got my BK CH7 discharge and I'm currently cleaning up my report. Can a creditor report an account like that?

Re: Are they reporting correctly?

Credit reporting has two facets.

One is prior payment hstory in the path of the debt.

Two is how the debt was paid, settled, or discharged.

An overriding principal of credit scioring is that what you do, or dont do, in repayment or settement of a dedt under facet two has nothihng to do with prior reporting of the debt deliquncy under facet one.

BK only affects your future obligation to pay the debt, and only requires a discharged creditor to then report a $0 debt now owec,  It does not discharge any ot their prior credit reporitg prior to the BK.
