Astounding Impact of FingerHut Graduating from FreshStart to Advantage Credit! 🥳

😂Astounding Impact of FingerHut Graduating from FreshStart to Advantage Credit! 🥳

I actually quite pleased with having gone through FingerHut's FreshStart program last year. When I got in early October 2020, I really did notice a nice many points improvement in my score. At about the same time I added a Cap1 Secured Platinum secured at the $1000 max they would do. Now I know I always want a $100-200 buffer for a monthly large purchase and life that I have. I would always do $1100 or $1200 to start now. Now that I've learned. Because if any finance charge sneaks in, the monthly high charge can't go through on time. Gack. I learned.

Also at the same time, my OpenSky first card aged to 6 months. I mention those two, because they probably all contributed to the movement from 502 to just around 600 in early January.

Turns out FH FreshStart is a loan from Webbank. So, it helped a little in my credit mix but still was not large enough to count for certain loan things for my score. I'm getting a no RE loan ding. I've added an SSL w NFCU to take care of this. I'd say it didn't give me 15-35 points as it has for some. But it's being there means I didn't lose points when FH FreshStart went away.

Last month, I paid off FH account because as it turned out (read here somewhere) that I didn't need to keep it the 6 months they kindah suggest you do. Doing so gave me maybe 1-2 points.

Today I got a congratulations. The $400 move from my FreshStart CL around $100 to Advantage $500 gave me today when it reported.... drum 🥁 roll please.... 🥁🥁🥁🤩🤩🤩🤩 1 more point in TU. 😂😂😂

Somehow rebuilding my Credit Score at this point reminds me of WB Yeats, Slouching Towards Byzantium....  Every few points helps. And I can see I am in a thick mud area of most of my TL's and Account Age is under 1 year. Time to laugh with me again, the Age of my CA's I think may actually be helping my AAoA  factor right now. 😂😂😂

Inching from 662 1 point improvements a few times taking me now to a whopping 665. 5 more points at least in TU to 670: Good.

I say I'm in thick mud for awhile longer because at my Credit Profile Age, I'm not going to be extended a SL unsecured for more than $300-500. That CL gives me about 2-5 points. To apply for it (I'm in the Garden 🪴 right now, like being in the App Spree equivalent of sitting 🪑 in the corner... 😂😂😂) dings me 3-5 points for 3-12 months. 😂 It can still be worth it in awhile. But not until I'm well over 670.

And because my Scores are circling 655- 670 soon, I'm understanding it's not really worth acquiring any new Secured Cards which would take 12-24 months to graduate (Uncle BOFA, WFB, or CITI). I'm in the I simply must wait period.

Meanwhile, I am working on tidying up the 2 Medical Collections which will help. Getting added as AU on 2 cards would also help. That'll take a few months. Again... waiting.

Gush, I know you'll all be happy for me... 😂😂😂 I wasn't really tracking what the FH conversion would do. Maybe 3-5 points would be nice. I'll take today's 1 point!! 👊🏻⚡️💥🔥😁

OMG, I just noticed.  and FH Credit is being cited as... a new account. So, the 5 months was pretty much a waste of using time to build my credit.

Yes they are 2 different products and therefore two different open dates. Grats to your graduation.

TY. It was the essentially 1 point improvement which had me rofl'g. We on the lower side of Rebuilding are grateful for every little bit. 🙏🏻🍀🍀🍀
