Authorized User Removal Question

Hi Gang,

3 Months ago, I had my wife call Chase to have me removed as an Authorized User from her CC.  The agreed and said wait 60-90 days for it to update on CRs.  After 90 Days I pulled my reports and it's still there.  All of my cards I'm at 3% Util which I rotate balances each month,  All but one keeping a 0 Balance then I pay in full all but one before they post and one after to keep one balance.  The worst of my baddies is a 30 day late from years and years ago.   Her card However is at 70% util, Closed by Chase.  Has 30, 60s and 90s,  all over the place.  I've been helping her pay it off and making progress.... It used to be over 100%.  Anyway.  I called Chase back and asked to double check my status on the card.  They stated I was not listed on the card and couldn't make inquiries.  I told them that's a GOOD thing.  Handed the phone to my wife and she had them confirm I'm off.

So my question is,  What is the next step?  Should I contact the CRAs?  Let them know and have them update?  If so how so?  I'd like to get this thing off of mine as I am currently Job hunting and would like my report in good shape in case potential employers pull my reports.

Thanks all,

A

Re: Authorized User Removal Question

Hello My Friend with good taste in beer.

Do you think an online dispute shoudl do?  Maybe a note stating I'm no longer an Authorized user?  Don't want them to think I'm just bein a PITA.  Smiley Happy

Re: Authorized User Removal Question

Online should suffice.  It is not your account and they will not be able to verify it.  There may also be a box for no AU or something like that.

Re: Authorized User Removal Question

Right on, Will do.

Come to think of it, what about EX?  I have no idea if it's listed.  I know we can't get our scores unless through lender and or that PA CU.  What about reports?  We should be able to get those right?  Seems unethical if they are reporting info on us for us not to be able to see it.  I'm thinking I'll just do the same as for TU and EQ.

Thanks again.

You can still get your once a year for free reports from all three CRA's at annualcreditreport.com and also buy them directly from each of their individual web sites.

From a BK years ago to:
9/09 EX pulled by lender 802
3/10 EQ- 800
4/10 TU -772

You can do the same thing with hard work

Re: Authorized User Removal Question

Thanks Vet,

So to clarify,  I can get my EX report, without the score directly from EX.  Gotcha.  Just got a message yesterday from TU stating that my annual free report was available.  So maybe it's been a year for EX too.

Thanks again,

Re: Authorized User Removal Question

Update,

Annual Free EX report was available.  Pulled that.  AU account no longer listed there.  At least that's one I didn't have to dispute.  Online Disputes filed for EQ and TU.  Requested review for no longer responsible for this account with notes that I am no longer an AU.  Fingers Crossed.  As this is the Biggest Derog on my reports I should get a nice boost.  If I could pull the EX score I'd have a good idea as it's already gone from there.

Overall, Thanks to everyone so far.  Like I said, this was my last big one.  Everything else is ageing gracefully and accurate.  GWs have been sent and some successfull.  The remainder I feel are too old or small to justify getting too anal retentive over.  I'm not going to stir the pot if it's not boiling over.  So.  After this, I'm about as good as I'm gonna get until things start dropping off.  So far since Jan I've Gained 80 points average across my reports and am debt free (except for mortgage).  A little hard work and a bit of time is all it takes, as long as you have the information to work with, which I received here.

Thank you again, and I'll update as results come in.
