Beware of "trimerge CPN" scam

Did anyone ever have anything happen that nobody would ever believe, but you seriously just can't make this stuff up?  So we had a guy come in to the business the other day looking for employment and he asked if he could use his new CPN instead of his Social Security number.  What?  Well he explained that he was sent to this website tradelineoasis dot com and he was directed to purchase a Trimerge CPN package plus for an extra $300 they sent him a Chase credit card with an $18,000 limit (total scam, don't fall for it).  For the CPN package they sent him a Social Security card which had a different number from his and they explained that his new information would merge with his credit profile giving his credit scores a huge boost.  They also sent him a driver's license with an address different from his own along with 3 months of bank statements.  He said he was told he could use the new information to apply for employment protecting his real identity, so he insisted that we couldn't refuse to accept it.  He said he used the information to open a bank account, rent an apartment and buy a car so he didn't understand why we were giving him problems.

Upon further investigation, I figured out what this place does is applies for a loan or credit card in sombody else's name and for a fee will send you the credit card with your name on it or will deposit the loan in your bank account.   If you prefer they will send you a CPN package which is really just a fake ID.  You have to convert your money to bit coin and pay them with CashApp so they are getting away with this crap and their "victims" get charged with a federal crime.  Law enforcement can't seem to do anything about the website, but I was told if the guy who was applying for a job comes back, to stall him and call law enforcement immediately as he's being charged with several counts of identity theft.

What really gets me is the fact that stolen identities are being sold right in plain site on the regular web and there's nothing that can be done about it, but if anyone buys a loan from there, they are running a very high risk of going to prison for 10 to 15 years.

Re: Have you ever heard of Tradelineoasis?

I haven't heard of this specific company, but I've heard of CPNs... the real problems start when the person who obtains a CPN then uses it to apply for, or obtains credit, or some other purpose in such a way as to hide their true identity. The moment they do, it becomes fraud, as well as identity theft, and ignorance of the law is no excuse.

These companies tout CPNs as being formatted just like a SSN... because they are in fact SSNs that belong to someone else such as children, senior citizens, the deceased, etc... They also claim their supplied CPN is merged in some "special" way with the Social Security Administration, or IRS which is resoundingly FALSE. This is nothing more than a complete scam, period.

People who find themselves in situations such as having poor credit ratings are also regularly looking for some kind of magic fix to their dilemmas, and sadly they're also gullible, and/or woefully misinformed. Unfortunately there are people, and companies out there always coming up with new "hidden answers" to all their credit woes. This CPN thing is just the latest, greatest "solution" in the evolution of credit repair scams. Only this one now opens it's victims up to federal charges in addition to stealing their money.

At least I haven't heard ads on the radio for them like you hear for "debt relief" companies touting "secrets the credit card companies don't want you to know about".

Good for you for posting about it, hopefully it will open people's eyes that may be looking into going this route.
