BoA and Chexystems/EWS

Hello,

I owe $800 to BoA. I called the Recovery Department and they said that if I paid, it will be updated as paid and them I will be able to dispute through their management to have it removed from Chexsystems/EWS.

Any experience with them and with deletion from Chexystems/EWS?

Yes, the account has to be paid and BOA has to send Chex Systems a message to let them know you have satisfied the debt. You can actually pay at the teller and then go to a banker and they can fax Chex Systems a letter to have it removed. I went through this 5 years ago and once entered in Chex Systems you cannot open a new banking account or cash checks at say Walmart or any other place. Take care of this ASAP for your own peice of mind. I have attached there address in case you need to actually send verification via mail an also there phone number. I wish you the best of luck....

Thanks.

Did you have it removed? Did you go to branch? I have seen other people saying that at a branch they would only mark it as paid and not removed.

They told me to send a check and then to call the Recovery Department to file a dispute to get it removed.

Re: BoA and Chexystems/EWS

The branch manager actually faxed them the payoff letter and I followed up and it took about a week for it to be deleted. Either way , save your receipt and get something in writing from the branch that it was paid and you can dispute it yourself with Chex Systems. They will contact the bank and it will be removed again it takes about 7 to 10 businesss days for removal.
