Bouncing back from credit problems.

Hello all,

I've been reading this forum for quite a while now and I am so happy this forum exists because without it, I would probably still be struggling with credit.

I've decided to post my progress since I began my credit repair journey in Jan 2011.

In December of 2010, my last negative item was posted to my credit which was a repo. So in Jan 2011 this is what my report looked like:

TU: 505 vantage

EQ: 495 fico

EX: 554 plus

1 medical collection (ernst artsman and associates)

1 cable collection (enhanced recovery bought from cox communications)

1 credit card collection (first premier bank still owns)

1 credit card collecton company (rjm aquisitions bought from wells fargo.)

1 student loan (closed transfered salle mae)

1 student loan collection co (texas guarranteed bought from sallie mae)

1 repo (toyota motor)

0 open revolving credit cards, loans, or anything

____________________________________________________________________________-

I put down $200 in march of 2011 for capital one secured and was approoved so that was my first card. I added $125 a month later to make my credit limit $325 and Capital One added $100 unsecured to the card.

At this point I began disputing stuff on my credit as follows

1 Medical collection deleted after dispute

cable collection to enchanced recovery deleted after dispute

credit card collection deleted after PFD.

student loan collection (texas guaranteed rehabilitated my loand and a new lender bought it. Texas guaranteed deleted their trade line. Sallie mae remains

repo remains

first premier remains

in July 2011 I applied for Capital One Journey and was approved with $500 with the credit steps I got CLI to 750 in feb of 2012. it still there.

in october 2011 I app for macys and was approved for $200. its still at $200

in november 2011 I applied for orchard bank and was approved for $320 CL

by this time I had 6 good accounts in good standing:

Capital one secured

cap 1 journey

macys

orchard

student loan purchased by chase bank

secured loan by snap on tools

and the baddies were still

first premier card

sallie mae

toyota repo

my scores were:

TU: 620 vantage

EQ: 584 fico

EX: 634 plus

In july of 2012 I applied for barclays card and was approved for 1300.

In october 2012 I applied for Jared galeria of jewlery and was approved for $4000

in december 2012 app for fingerhut and was approved for $800

And this month in January 2013 I applied for Blue By American Express and was approved for 1000. Still waiting for the card. My socres are as follows

TU: 689 fico

EQ: 650 fico

EX: 686 plus ( maybe amex will tell me my fico when the card gets here)

So my credit profile is coming along.

Cap 1 Secured $425

Cap 1 Journey $750

Orchard Bank $320

Macys $200

Barclays $1300

Jared $4000

American express blue $1000

student loan

snap on loan.

(I need a mortgage to complete my profile )

and the baddies are still

First premier bank (falls off feb 2014)

sallie mae (falls off sep of this year)

toyota repo.

do you guys think I should dispute these items or let them be?

time to go get fertilizer for my garden :-)

 please excuse my spelling !

Re: Bouncing back from credit problems.

Do you have basis for asserting a specific inaccuracy in their reporting?

Disputes that dont identify a specific inaccuracy can be dismissed as frivolous or irrelevant, will make your scoring incomplete until resolved, and might create a feeling of less than good-will should you subsequently pursue requests for their good-will deletion.

Re: Bouncing back from credit problems.

Well for the repo, I read a little about it and i believe by law they must notify a debtor where the auction will be held. I wanted to buy the car at the auction but they never notified me of where and when the auction was gonna take place thus not giving me the opportunity to buy the car.

For first premier I dont ever remember applying for the card . I just remember one day I received it with all these fees applied to it. I never even used it. So I taught about disputing that.

And for sallie mae just a good-will letter.

Thanks
