I have been rebuilding my credit by paying off collections etc for the last 18 months. The last thing I need to complete is this repossession. After looking at my report it appears maybe it should have been the first thing I should have addressed. I am looking for advice on how to achieve the best outcome. I owe them $1,800 dollars. I will pay it regardless but want to help it improve my score as much as possible. It was repossed 09/2021. It still reports 90 days late, open and "in repossession" is that accurate or should it be listed differently. Anyhelp i can receive i appreciate it. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to report as (in repo) (90 days late) if I'm not mistaken. Just make it a priority to pay that off. Maybe try to work out a deal with them. You could write them an email or letter asking them to remove it from your credit if you pay off the balance. It's a long shot but always worth trying. I mean the worst they can say is no right?
Just make sure to do everything in writing - email or letter. That way you can hold them to their promise to remove (IF they do).
