Hey all!
In 2006, the California Franchise tax board crawled right up my kiester. My CA-Tax cancer grew in 2007 and nearly tripled in 2008, giving me a beautiful balance of ~$4000 when they finally recorded the lien in March of last year.
Well, I'm happy to say that last night I cut the FINAL e-check to them! They're paid off as soon as it clears! WOOOHOO!
I did it pretty quickly, too... Started paying in August, so what's that 7 months? Setting up the last payment last night took about a thousand pounds off my shoulders.
Now, I have to figure out how to get the CA lien popped. If anyone knows how to do that, please let me know/send me a PM!
And... on to rockin' out the $25K or so I owe to Uncle Sam. My goal is to have this paid off by October. If I can swing $3000/mo to them, it should just about do it. I don't make a ton of money, but I decided to cut nearly all discretionary spending until these tax woes are gone. I currently pay for rent, food, fuel and utils... that's it. 8 more months of pain, here I come!
