CMI SUCCESS---Don't Give up!!!

Finally after nearly 2 months of trying to get GMI to remove a paid collection I got the response and letter I wanted. They are removing the tradeline.

Don't ask for GOODWILL..They want a reason on why it needs to be removed, something like original creditor has records of a balance due, I never received a statement from the original creditor, I moved and never got the statement etc. Hope this helps.

I am going to try this next week.  I hear that if you call and talk to an account specialist and tell him you'll fax in a reason why you didn't pay, they'll be likely to remove it for you.  I wonder if the a lot of them work this way.  The medical company I was dealing with yesterday said that they would remove it for me if I faxed them a letter.  I typed out the letter right away and sent off the fax.

CMI is my last negative item on my credit report but also the most difficult.

cmi deleted for me after I paid. i requested a pfd via cert mail denied. I then found some e-mail addy's requested via e-mail, paid in full in advance, e-mailed my receipt to the same people with a long winded good-will/sob story.....response in 10 minutes, accounts deleted next day, letter in 7 days!
