COLLECTIONS FEES

i have 2 accounts that are medical bills from CFW COLLECTIONS that are charging collections fees 1 is $40 the other is$100.00 can thay do this ? i think i seen in the FCDPA thay can only charge for the amount you owe the OC.

Yes, they can charge fees but there is a limit. Are you interested in paying these collections and having them removed from your credit reports?

The fees must be disclosed on the original agreement and be within applicable state laws where you live and/or where the debt was incured.

I agree that FDCPA does not allow collection fees beyond the contract terms.
