Hey fico friends,
Following the advice from "FireMedic1", I was able to PC my Cap1 Platinum CC to a QS credit. A little background info: Cap1 was the first credit card I applied to after my ch7 BK discharge in October 2018. I was instantly approved for their Platinum mastercard with a SL of $500. Fast forward 3 1/2 months later, I inquired about a product change. When I logged into my accout I didn't see a link under the "upgrades" section, so I used the link that was supplied in the forum for the product change. Before I completed the my product change, I requested a CLI (SP). Initially requested for my new limit to be $650, but they counter offered me $600. I accepted the $600 CL and proceeded on with my PC. The only option for me to product change to was the QS no A/F. Everything is going to stay the same.
My fourth statement should cut tomorrow and my fourth payment posts tomorrow as well. I'll have one more month of the credit steps program before I get my new limit of $750. The only thing that is changing is my CVV and expiration, so I'll be receiving my new QS card in the mail by the end of the week. I'm really happy about this and THANK YOU again FireMedic1
One last question, now that I PC my platinum mastercard into a QS, what are the CLI looking like for the QS? How often should I wait before doing my next CLI with my QS card?
Thank you all for you feedback!
You still have a platinum, it just gets QS rewards now. Whatever bucket you were in when you got the platinum, will stay the same. As for the CLI, cap1 is every 6 months. The credit steps graduation counts, so 181 days from then.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. Is Cap1 generous giving nice SL limits? Should I wait until the end of the year to request another CLI? I'm eyeing the VentureOne as my next travel CC ![]()

All decisions are computer generated and non-negotiable. They can be very generous if you have a high score and clean profile. On the flip side, you could have a mid-700 score and clean profile and be denied. If you want a high limit from cap1, make sure you're fairly clean. As for the CLI, you can ask every day after 180 days, but it appears they want heavy use, about 3 months in my experience. Unfortunately, cap1 has been cutting back so I wouldn't count on anything amazing for either.

Thanks and congrats! Same exact way I started the journey. Give it 6 months and try the Disco pre-qual and snag a Disco. It has begun!
Discover, AMEX, CITIBank, Barclaycard, BOA was IIB. I'm left with NFCU and Cap1 as my CC companies.
