Good morning. I was served this morning and I live in Alabama. I am scared to death and have no idea what to do. The complaint is for $1610.74.
Will I be able to negotiate a settlement amount to the attorney that filed the complaint?

As A1credit sudgested, you should talk to the law firm handling the case and see if you can settle it.
Cap1 filed against me for $1100

Hi there OP,
I have started your own thread on this. Welcome to the board.
they will happily take a reasonable payment plan or settlement amount. dont be scared. Honestly attorneys are a million times less scary tthan eveeryone makes them out to be. Be reasonable and respectful anand they will be the same!
Sometimes (some states) you go to a back room and try to come to an agreement on what you can afford and the terms to pay it off before you even make it to a judge. If accepted on both parties. Then you sign an agreement. Lawyers will tell the judge we have an agreement. Thats it. He signs it and off you go. But dont miss a payment to the law firm. There will be additional fees added also.
It will work itself out. Just be truthful and explain your situation. Keep us posted.
