CapitalOne Goodwill Letter and Returned Phone Call

So, I sent some Goodwill emails to CapitalOne last week (and a few weeks ago) - to their CEO and a few other emails I could find.  I got a call back today from them saying that they could not honor the request due to blah blah blah.

I seem to recall some postings on here where folks said that CapitalOne called and told them no, but then deleted it later anyway, a few months later?  Has that happened to anyone?

I'm thinking I should keep sending my emails and letters, not assuming that might happen.  What do you think?

Also, I'm trying to expand the list of email addresses to try.  Does anyone have or maintain a list or good ones worth a shot?

May I ask what is the address you emailed or mailed your GW Request ?

Re: CapitalOne Goodwill Letter and Returned Phone Call

Richard.Fairbank@capitalone.com  (CEO)

Sanjiv.Yajnik@capitalone.com

Timothy.Erxleben@capitalone.com

Kleber.Santos@capitalone.com

Not really sure which one got a response, even though it wasn't a positive one.

That said, I'm hopeful they gave me back the company line, but maybe asked for a change behind the scenes?  The agent I spoke to really gave little to no information.

It might be my post that you're remembering, and yes exactly that happened to me a few months ago. Got a phone call saying "no", a few letters saying "no", and never got anything that said "yes", but the accounts just got mysteriously erased a few months after the last letter I sent, after I gave up trying to send the GW letters. I can only assume it was a Good Will letter that triggered the deletion (since they were not due to fall off my reports until 2024). I believe that, aside from one email I sent to Mr. Fairbank (which I think is the one that they called me for), every letter I sent was just to their standard PO box listed on my credit reports.

Re: CapitalOne Goodwill Letter and Returned Phone Call

Thanks @coreysw12 - your post was super helpful (and memorable).  I've not sent anything to their PO Box, so clearly the emails got some kind of reaction. It is odd - we went out of town for the weekend, and I kept getting calls yesterday from CapOne.  I thought it was because they had flagged a transaction on mine (just in case it might be fraud).  I called back today, and she was pretty to the point.

Would you mind DM'ing me with what worked for you?  I may keep emailing them and sending letters.  Why not?  Guess it can't hurt, especially if I won't know fo months if they did something behind the scenes inconsistent with their messaging.
