So yesterday I called Equifax. All I was trying to do was ask them the dates my derogs would be removed. Experian was able to give me exact dates they would be removed. June 13th is my day with Experian, all 4 derogs will be gone and it will be completely clean. Woop!
Anyway, called EQ and asked if they could give me dates as well. Customer Service or whoever I was talking to asked me if I was disputing the info. I told them NO absolutely not, just asking what dates they'll be removed organically. I'm not sure where the disconnect happened but I get an email today from myFico alerts saying Updates on Equifax.
They changed "descriptors" whatever that means to a bunch of stuff saying Consumer Disputes this and that and its just abunch of stuff. Nothing changed as far as DOFD so thankfully they didn't completely screw it up but jeez. What are they doing over at EQ?

Oof, close call indeed. From everything I've read - don't mess with EQ. Just let them do whatever they do and everything will fall off. Apparently they can be a nightmare to deal with.
You can always pull your reports from annualcreditreport and see when your derogs happened. Then add up 7 years from there.

I know all my estimated dates, from DOFD, but still wanted to see if I find out the exact dates. Probably overly optimistic but oh well. Either way, I'm going to leave it alone.
I lost 17 points today from my EQ just from them changing the descriptors. Absolutely nothing changed besides that. I can not wait for those derogs to fall off naturally so I can put all this behind.
IMO it's not worth it with EQ. TU and EX will delete 6/3 months early... but EQ will do 30 days if you're lucky.
I'd rather not poke the bear.. we're only talking about 30 days. My fall off date is Jan 2024... so we are talking July for TU and Oct for EX. The only creditor I have that even pulls EQ is Penfed and then Cap One which pulls all 3.
Not a huge deal for me to wait 30 days.

I really wasn't trying to poke the bear with EQ, all I asked for was estimated day of deletion. Just for my own personal info I guess and expressly told them I wasn't disputing the information. For some reason they "disputed" it I guess. Not really sure.
Also not really sure how nothing changing on my profile resulted in a 17 point loss? Who knows. I'm not planning on doing anything credit app wise until June with creditors that will only pull TU and EX. Gonna leave my EQ frozen until I have to unfreeze it for a Cap One later this year or next.

Yeah I get it. My point was for me it's just not worth it. I see the DoFD on my EQ report along with a removal date.... 30 days early isn't a big deal to me especially when I have but one creditor that actually pulls EQ.
Living out here on the left coast everyone seems to pull TU or EX. When I lived on the east coast in GA/FL the EQ pulls were a lot more common. I think where you live plays a big part.
