So if debt that has been aged off your credit report can be seen by mortgage lenders and employers paying more than 75k… is there a way I can see it if I want to take care of it?

If you are applying for a mortgage or insurance of $150,000 or more and income of $75,000 or more those can be seen. It is not automatic and they would need to ask for the full and factual report. Yes, you can by calling the CRAs and asking for it. I would ask for unpaid accounts because if you ask for the entire thing it could be hundreds of pages.
This is in any state, it is a federal law found in the FCRA.

The lender will tell you at that point to take care of it if they wish. Some won't. It does happen, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the mortgage lender.
