It's been a while since I've been back here to myfico. I learned to much earlier this year and I've gotten my score up since January, which I am very proud of. I'm still on track to get my score above 700.
Well enough of my intro, I just purchased my Equifax and I subscribed to Fico Quarterly Monitoring.
I still have one collections on my equifax that I have paid off, but it's still there.
I was concerned when I saw my transunion report of the same collection. It showed a balance of $448.
Here is my Equifax:
Collection agency 496yc03413

So I guess what I'm wondering is ....
a.) How can I get the collection removed from my equifax, since it's paid off.
b.) With the Status of the collection on the TU side showing not reported ... what does that mean? Should I have them correct this? It's definitely paid off.
Thanks In Advance!

A paid CO can be reported as long as they mark it as paid. You can try to GW them, but they do not have to delete.
As far as TU showing a balance due, I would dispute the balance through TU.

Here is my take.
The CA may have been reported to EQ as paid in full, but not to TU.
That could be for different reasons.
Paying off the OC balance might not be considered by the CA as being full payment of what is owed on the CA account. Further interest? Further CA fees? So maybe they only reported the addit amts due to TU.
You may think you paid it off, but obviously they dont see it that way.
Legally, each CA will drop from your CR only after 7 1/2 years from the DOFD on the OC account that led to the collection. The only way to get them off sooner is through GW letters, and CAs are not noted for GW.
